Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh, the kingdom’s grand mufti, said in remarks quoted Wednesday in the regional Al-Hayat newspaper. “A girl aged 10 or 12 can be married. Those who think she’s too young are wrong and they are being unfair to her.”

… “We hear a lot in the media about the marriage of underage girls,” he said, according to the newspaper. “We should know that Shariah law has not brought injustice to women.”
To The Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh (PBUH) It has been this way for thousands of years and should remain so.

My grandmother was married at 13 and my mother-in-law at 12.
They are not Muslim. “I like your Christ. I don’t like your Christains. They are so unlike your Christ.”

"Could it be that this text is either taken out of context or not translated properly?"

1. In what context is having sex with the 9 year old that you married praiseworthy?
2. Perhaps it's translated improperly, a strong reason to suspect that it is not is that the head cleric of Saudi Arabia is declaring legal judgments that are consistent with the translation.

"Supposedly Mary gave birth when she was 14 but even the Christians claimed that she was a virgin (acknowleding that she was too young for sex as well)"

1. Where did you find the 14 number?2
2. Why does a miracle virgin birth imply that 14 is too young for sex?
3. How does this relate at all to this news story?
Reply | <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('157','ConverseAtheist','"Could it be that this text is either taken out of context or not translated properly?" \n \n1.
Thank you for your stoic comments on this (they do not go unnoticed). The emmulation of Mohammad with regards to this practice is disturbing as it shows that in modern times you have a massive group of people who are handicapped by their religion and in turn subdue the human right and virtue of free will! How can a young girl be born into this kind of slavery in this day and age? I'm not sure either... guess they'll have to ask their dog when they meet him.
Reply | <a href="#" class="quote" onclick="quote('148','jljahrig','Thank you for your stoic comments on this (they do not go unnoticed).
